Google Pagerank and Alexa Scores
So Google Page Rank What’s it really all about? And then there’s Alexa. Both of these internet report cards seem to have very limited to do what our (or at least my) business popularity is right?. . . Well maybe slightly.
I never knew of these internet score cards before my business partner told me about them. I was always just concerned about how many people visited me, and did business with me. For awhile I tracked my visitors these with the popular (among newbies) the free counters available for quick download and install. Soon I was introduced to something called AWStats. . . a free .pl script that tracks your visitors. And then soon after the google analytics javascript that is easily installable on your webpage.
So I soon became one of those crazy website owners that keep looking at those damned Alexa and Google page rank scores. I felt like a kid that just finished a grade in school waiting patiently for my report card to arrive in the mail. But these internet report cards so much more unpredictable. Even though you know you think you’ve beed doing quite well (or bad), you hope for a grade that you think you should (or want to) get. The problem with these, practically universal, internet health scores is that they many times do not match (good or bad) of what you have done with your website since the previous critique.
I’m at the point to stop watching these scores. What do they really mean to me and my business anyway? Maybe it is because my profits do not rely completely on the internet. Even though my business is completely related to the internet, it does not revolve around it. My sales are in the field. My marketing and advertising are in fact reliant on the field. Those that find me on the internet are in fact, just a bonus.
So, screw these two (or three if you count compete.com) scores I keep watching in my spare (or not so spare) time. As long as I keep growing, Google and Alexa have nothing on me! It still strikes me as rediculous that the page rank on this stupid blog is a “4″, while my bread and butter webpage is still a “3″ (alexa undeterminable) . . .even though the profit and visitor count is way on the side of GimmeGrub.com.
But seriously, lets hope that this blog will attract all of those internet newbies will push up my internet scores and traffic because I’ve mentioned those special keywords “Alexa” and “Google Page Rank” . . .

We are excited to have the opportunity to work with the guys at Newport Rib Company, Naples Rib Company, and Newport Rib Company @Ladera Ranch. Rib Company had been doing thier own online ordering for some time, but wanted it to improve the ease of use, and offer their entire menu to their customers. They also understood the necessity of making sure the orders reached the restaurant in a timely manner. Their new GimmeGrub.com online ordering website went live early March, 2008.
Since it has gone live, orders have been taking off! Recently they hired a photographer to take pictures of their food, which have since been added to the website.
I have dined at the Costa Mesa location, and the ribs are fantastic! When you go, make sure to be hungry. The also have available many catering options for pickup for when you want to treat the office to a treat.
